       Page Racer Pylon
                 The Racer Pylon in brief
They are very small model boats that run with a 2 times combustion engine
and are fed with a fuel, which basic ingredients are of methylique alcohol
and oil castor. They turn on a 15.93m radius circuit - a cable allows the
model boat to hold at a central pylon ( that is the meaning of their name)
The models are timed on 500 m. or 5 circuit tours since the moment that
the competitor esteems he has reached the maximal speed.
The real speeds can reach 280 Km/h. The competitors are classified by
categories according to the speed reached by their racer. This discipline,
native from the U. State is practised in France since the 1935's.
Two categories are specially appreciated: the one is submerged propeller
driving, the other, aerial propeller driving; but steam propelling is taking
importance; and probably soon we will be able to count with electrically
propelled boats given the technical advancements realizedin this domain
It is a cheap way to drive model boats: no radio command (radio order)
no complicated equipment, economical in fuel, and requiring few space: a
40x40m. pond is sufficient.
12 nations and about 800 followers in the world are enjoying this leisure.
